My sabbatical

I’m a geophysicist in my “sabbatical” years of traveling. Working on a seismic vessel around the world for a bit more than two years made me want to discover the world on my own and without rush, so I decided to take a break from work and focus only on traveling and photography. Previously I traveled in Peru in vacation with friends and in India in a photography tour with a photographer I very much admire, but still I’m a beginner in both traveling and photography. I decided to challenge myself and be a solo traveler from Antarctica to Alaska starting with February 5th 2015 when I flew to Ushuaia, Argentina.

"A journey, after all, neither begins in the instant we set out, nor ends when we have reached our door step once again. It starts much earlier and is really never over, because the film of memory continues running on inside of us long after we have come to a physical standstill. Indeed, there exists something like a contagion of travel, and the disease is essentially incurable.” ― Ryszard Kapuściński, Travels with Herodotus
